Wed, Thu, Fri.. zoom......... the day dear is coming back is getting nearer.. good! hee.. the past 3 days can be classified as 'normal' working day. Y the inverted comma? Cos usually wed and fri will be meeting my little mousy, so the 'normal' days this week doesn't seems that normal after all. Maybe it's due to the rainy weather and the heaty food, maybe it's due to me missing dear dear, maybe it's due stress at work.. i finally succumb to the seasonal flu virus on thurs... felt so weak and 'suan' in my knees. Heng that it's just fever, not running nose or sore throat... took MC on friday. By rite job responsibility wise i shouldn't take MC on friday, cos i've a meeting with the users and my prj manager took leave, so it's left with me presenting his part. With me going on MC, i guess the only person to present will be my boss.. anyway, i couldn't care so much as i was quite 'sei' on fri morning.. On thu i still tot i will be able to tahan at least till after meeting on fri.. but in the end i guess it's body over mental strength..

It must be the holiday season, really no mood to do work, especially after having every dec on holiday for the past 24 yrs, working in dec seems an OT.. haha.. anyway, gotta get use to it cos for the next 24 yrs or more, the dec won't be a holiday month anymore...

No more philosophical ifs and buts liao... just waiting for my little angel to come back from shanghai, then i can hug her again.. MUACKS!

The 4th Day

Whenever you tot the day might be damn sucky, it just didn't...heng.. Well, that's what i intially tot will happen today. Cos went down to the far end of spore for a supposely 'confrontation' with the pple who needs to protect their multiple butts. But actually things turn out to be fine.. all parties are satisfied with answers provided.. it all boiled down to mismatch of expectations and requirements.. add on a few miscommunication, u have the 3/4 full of receipe for argument, disagreement, big egos and attitudes. Sigh... so communication, very impt @work or @ relationship....

Missing my dear for the 4th day. Went to meet giant today for dinner at tiong bahru.. initially also jioed james and jeff and zhiying, ruilin along, in the end their time is ganna rob by ICT, overseas flying and job. Hope to meet up again after giant comes back from oversea in 2008 la. Dear in Wuxi today... must be staying at some chalet style hotel.. room must be big, can't wait for her to come back.. Big big virtual hug and kiss, Muacks!

Christmas round the season.. must think of wat presents to get liao...*headache*

8 days w/o my little mousy

Today marks the 3rd day w/o seeing my love. Y so, cos she's happily touring the same 8 days shanghai-jiangnan CTC tour package that i embarked on this yr june. It will be a tiring trip and a cold one given the winter season in China. Hopefully it's not too freezing for my little mousy. W/o her heater pack, i guess she will be shivering n puffin out 'white' smog.. hee. Promise to give you a big big hug when you come back, to make up for the warm you lack during the 8 days trip.

The first day after dear dear left for Shanghai is one of the extremely few saturday this year i endure w/o her. Felt so lost, cos usually will meet her after lunch. But for that saturday, i even have time to take a nap after a long movie in the afternoon. Start to miss the presence of my dear. The loneliness is compounded by the fact that mum went HK too. Then both bro not at home. So quiet... Went marina in the end to meet old man, since i was rather tempted to get the Creative speakers for my desktop, then also thinking of how to settle my dinner, also quite some time nv see old man liao, so finally drag myself to marina.. 1 stone kill 2 bird.... hee... finally gotten a sms from little mousy at nite.. *happy* poor her, nv wore enough clothing to keep warmth on her first day there. Must be unused to the chilling weather..

So there goes the sat, then came sun.. breakfast was a simple cup of milo and some tau sa bread. Dunno who so evil, stole my newspaper. Maybe it's just that i woke up late. (ard 10 plus -- consider normal for sun rite..haa), stone for a while, realise that i'm home alone again since bro decides to come back on mon. N the day continue w/o dear dear n mum... movies, lunch, games, nap, movies again... blink.. sun gone.. Work on monday..argh.. lucky got nightly msg with love from China.. can't wait to see whether dear dear gain weight or lose weight when she comes back.. i bet she must have lost weight cos the food there quite oily and salty.. then sleep late and lots of travelling on bus. Plus the cold weather = ingredients for losing weight? Hopefully not...

Working monday.. already feeling sian + more shit work thrown at my desk.. why can't pple just agree with each other.. yaya... i know it's politics.. but then why can't pple just be rational.... maybe it's just that there's too many backsides for each individual to cover ba.. sigh... wanted to msg dear, but dun want her to sms too much.. it cost 50 cents to get a China msg to spore... multiply by the number of sms to n fro.. every single communication costs dollars.. hmmmm.. wait till mousy comes back then i start whining ba.... in the mean time 'lun' ah.... hahahaha

Tick tock tick tock... just like cinderella, when the clock strikes 12, it's time for me to hit the bed again... n before i forget... i better get my whites pearly first... gonna take a look at my dear's good nite msg first... muacks muacks! *hope will be able to transmit to Nanjing to my dear's sweet dreamland*...

New beginning

Aloha! *using the same starting line* It's a long time since this blog is in operation... someone even asked me if this blog is 'dead'... My reply to that was:"nonono, of course not, the blog is just in hibernation. Reviving soon...hee"

So schooling life is finally over, erm.. actually not really, cos still have fyp presentation. Then there's still the job searching process... so sian... All in all, my status at the moment: jobless and very eng.. hee.

Been digging out books that i bought in China to read, yup, chinese novels... not those thick thick ones with words from right to left, up to down.. haha... it's those normal ones... gotten this book from this author named 蔡智恒. Found one section of the book very meaningful, so here it goes:

看来想要得到长时间的满足，是不太可能的。很想拥有满足的感觉，其实也是一种追求的欲望。但如果能在追求的过程中感到快乐，那么你到底在追求什么，或者是否追求得到，就不是那么重要了。

Leaving on a jet plane... 1 year ago....

Wow... it's already 6th of july 2006. The date has suddenly struck me while watching the morning channel newsasia. Cos there's this news abt commerating 1 yr anniversary of the london underground bombing. Then i was like.. ooo... 1 yr le... It was this very date 1 year ago when i was checking into my beijing apartment 'condo' aka 老人区.. haha.. Still remember i was pretty excited abt staying away from home for so long.. first time travelling n staying overseas for more than 2 weeks mah.. hee.. Well, the final experience was a pretty satisfying and mind opening one with actual hands-on on their culture, food n their way of life.

Fast forward time to now.. with another semester gone n very slim chances of going overseas as a student again, i'm facing a status of a graduating student soon. FYP, graduating blues, graduating trips, lots of goodbyes, dreams, resumes, talks, scholarships, newspaper classified ads, exams and many more are things i guess i'll be facing in another yr's time.... Some or most of these events/feelings are more or less 'confirmed' as they have been tried and tested on many batches of seniors b4 me.

I guess i need to be anticipating each and every new events, tasks, difficulties placed b4 me in the coming 'new yr' with more tots, cautious planning and execution as it's time to start moving into another lifestyle with the old one sustaining firmly behind me.

It's a small small world...

Can u believe it.. yeokie's mum n my mum came from the same secondary sch n both of them were actually classmates somemore... haha... this whole thing started when both our parents met when they are sending us off to taiwan abt a month back.. guess yeokie's mum found my mum familier but didn't 'acknowledge' her.. it's up till today then she mention it to yeok then yeok ask me then i ask my mum then voila... they actually know each other.. woo.. haha.. the world is so small...

Long time haven't update blog le.. been reading others blog though.. catching up with the rest thru their blog.. hee...

Ya, as for me, here's some updates lah... i'm gonna start my operation 'stuck-in-the-lab for 1 yr' stint aka fyp soon, my dear gonna start work too... guess it's time to boot up the engine again after 2 months of enjoyment (----> COR, taiwan trip, slacking home, gatherings)

It has been 2 months le... 难得 i start to register a new entry... all thanks to Mr KM.. hee
ya, cos ganna pin point by him to do his survey mah... :P

As my nite is usually spent somewhere n by the time i reaches home, it's already 9 to 10 liao... haha... plus i'm now using ntu's 56k dial up, therefore all these added up to ==> lazy + no time to update my blog.. haha...

To cor: i'm onz to meet up next week... think we did mention abt meeting up at ur 1 month deadline... but anyway, everything has already been settled liao.. so wat's left is only the updates.. haha

Okok... back to the survey:

A. whether like girl girl or boy boy...

hmmm.... as wat gil has said, depends on whether it's toking abt kids or adults lor... but from the way it's phrase like toking abt kids lei... guess i'm ok with both gal gal n boi boi... cos after all, no matter which sexes 'pop' out, they r still ur own flesh n blood... anyway... drag too far liao... haha

B. my 8 criterias in an ideal partner...

actually on these 8 criterias, i agreed with Mr KM on most of his pts lei...
there's no such thing as perfect or ideal in this world... be it systems, pple, opinions etc.. everything has certain degree of flaws in them, so my first criteria to wat i think should be within my 'checklist' for the 'perfect' partner will be:

1. Dedication --- every r/s needs some form of maintainence, i would say to sacrifice for the other person is too strong n negative word to use.. every individual is unique in their own ways, to be able to come together as a couple is a big step taken by 2 individuals to walk out of their own world n embrace the other. i would think that to be able to dedicate to each other in most ways, for a couple, will be an ideal situation for a r/s

2. Communication --- humans are verbal animals, a r/s cannot survive w/o communication. to be able to communicate isn't just abt talking non stop.. i would think understanding is impt in communication. n also stubborness n individualism doesn't help in communication... hee.. so my take on the 2nd criteria will be constant n effective comms ba..

3. actually i'm already stuck at num 3 liao... hee... hmmm.. 3rd criteria shall be love ba.. of course most pple would want their partner to love them with all their heart as wat they would do for their partner also.

4. Tolerance --- bad habits, weakness, strength, jealousy... understanding is a better word used i guess.. to be able to understand why some things are just happening that way n accept it..

5. Oh ya, ideal partner should be able to take care of the house... haha.. of course i will definitely do my part too.. clean here clean there.. maintaining a home can help to build up r/s i think... haha.. of course cannot be too picky on the task that need to be done lah...

6. hmmm.... 6th criteria ah, an ideal partner must know how to enjoy life after work... haha... then life together wouldn't be boring everyday... must know the enjoyment of nuaing wor.. haha

7. totful?? small gestures can make someone's day... hee... dun need be so ideal till 心有灵犀 ba, just some unintentional words of encouragement or care or a simple sms or a pat on the shoulder will just do for me..

8. finally the 8th, but not the last though... that person must make me have the feeling that 'she is the one'.... n i guess the 8th criteria is being happily fulfilled for me at the moment n for the days to come... heee...

Think that i have been on holiday for too too long till i'm desperately searching for the feeling of studying for the past 1 week.. omg..
Make up lec after make up lec and somemore it's day in day out... sian... and it's not even the full schedule of my timetable yet.. argh..
Wonder if i'm a full time or part time student in NTU, cos it seems tat i've been joining aunties n uncles for nite classes for the 1st week of sch.. hmmm... maybe i should just enrol in the part time courses then can have my day free... haha
Even though it's just jan, but i'm actually looking forward to the mid of may le... sian..

The journey has began... n i intend to make it last forever

The year 2005 has been one hell of a journey...
Handing over of CH duties, going China, coming back....n much have happened within the past 2 weeks of 2005... esp the last few days of 2005.. =p

All i want to say is that the journey has started, it might be ardous and long, but it will also be very fulfilling.. i might not be the best traveller but i will definately make this journey a memorable one with the goal of making it last forever... =)

Dun understand what i'm toking abt... well, guess it's ok... hee

It's a start of a new yr n i know life will nv be the same from this day onwards....

Last days in Peking

Winter in Beijing is not fun... reminds me of the army song 'when the cold wind blows'... kinda miss the hot n humid weather in spore.. although sometimes it can be rather irritating to have a sticky feel on ur skin, but at least u'll reach a shopping mall within a 100m radius.. but here, hmmm... guess u'll have to extend the radius by at least 5 times b4 u find a place where there's heating system... brrr....

I'm still waiting for a big snowfall... the thickness of that snowfall must at least cover till my ankle.. haha.. the amt of snow last week can only clean the tar road i think... a bit turn off... hope to experience a white beijing b4 i go back... =)

Argh.. my hands is drying up again, it's scaly n filled with cracks now.. argh.... applying moisturer can only help my delicate hands tahan for a while i guess.. nv mind, going back home soon.. haha... just love the humidity in spore.. at least it's good for my hand texture..

Most of my friends are already doing the counting down to going home le.. the mood and the atmosphere ard is just like when i'm 'ORD'ing a few years back... guess it's bad to stay at a location for very long, it makes pple miss the other places.

Gifts..
Homecoming gifts can be a headache at times.. esp when the places u go offer nothing spectacular to buy except for local products perhaps... sigh... gonna make a few trips to town for the next few days to look of inspiration...

不得不承认，人的心境是会随着时间的流失而便老的。虽然在国外的这几个月时间不算是很长，但是总觉得我好像是被流放了很久似的，好想找个安静的地方暂时停顿下来。那里不会有污染的空气，拥挤的马路，热闹的街道，那里有的只是花的香，水的静，日出的耀眼，晚霞的绚丽。想了很久，那地方大概就是我的家吧。

不得不承认，休息是为了走更长的路。我想过去的这几个月我是休息够了，因为我开始厌倦了这里生活的步伐和节奏。所以我想该是时候回到我熟悉的环境了。

不得不承认，旅行永远是让人兴奋的。但是如果这份兴奋的感觉没能和志同道合的另一个人分享，那这样的旅行还能被说成是旅行吗？

不得不承认，距离能使相思成灾。如果身在这里的我正在思念另一边的你，你是否真能感受得到吗？

A day in the office

11.15am: mode: stoning in the office... pondering if i want to start on another 思考题 or i should continue with my comic 龙狼传 or i should start on my IA report(wanted to collect more samples first) or should i go back to my database(the main structure and functionality is completed, just left with the security(irritating feature in the database), letting kev to play with it....hee)

11.30am: lunching soon... getting sick n tired of the food in coke, still as oily as ever.. guess it's because my stomach hasn't been feeling quite well for the past week.. might be due to the cold weather... oh ya, cold weather makes me feel like hibernating... hibernating mode = no appetite = low food intake... dun think i'll grow fat when i go back to spore.. haha

1.01pm: finish with our rendezvous session at the usual sitting place in coke.. hee.. now it's time to decide on what should be done for this afternoon.. hee.
guess it will be 思考题 after all.. since i've already opened the ppt slides and is ready to conclude whatever points there is in there.. so here i go...

4.44pm: started my 思考题at 3pm and putting down my last word for the essay soon.. been surfing the net for bt since 1.01.. hee.. found quite a few 'seeds' for movies.. no wondering if my hdd has enough space for all these 'junk'... counting down for 5pm n my dinner will be porridge i think..

It has been a long time since i've updated this blog.. guess i'm too lazy ba.. hee
initially wanted to update after my trip back from Xi'an, but then again... lazy ba... haha

Then today is my bday le, so decide to log in an entry ba..=)

The greetings start coming in past 12 this morning... the first is from my 'mei' from jc.. she's exactly 1 week younger than me... always received bday sms from her every yr.. next week will be my turn to greet her back liao.. hahah

went to work as usual during the day.. nothing much happens at work today except ganna bombard by the engineers in my dept towards the end of the day.. wah sei.. fierce...

thanks to all my apt mates, had a good dinner n the cake too... thanks shaun,kel,CB n KM!!!

for those of ya mugging for exams, good luck n jia you wor..tahan thru this stressful period n it will be a bright n sunny path ahead le...

Ok, good news first...

finally gotten my pay for the past 2 months le.. total abt 1400RMB... maybe enough to cover my transport and dvds for the past month ba.. hee..

Have the feeling that the coming weeks gonna be hectic... IA report, GEs in PKU also need reports, got to show my sup in coke something soon... at least show him that we are still doing things... gotta jia you jia you.. need to shift up my gear...

Here's the sad news, at least to me,

i was lucky that i can 'take part' in the mid term assessment for my IA..
however, think i'm being too harsh on myself, got a chance to grade myself slightly above average, but i chose to take the avg path... then in the end it's really that section that i put myself down that my ntu tutor took note of... sian...
just consolation to myself.. there's still a second assessment at the end of the IA.. gotta come up with something good by then le...

Money spender

Wah... was just doing some tallying of my expenses for the past week... found that this week i've spend the most as compared to the rest of the weeks in beijing. But still ok, course the things i've spent on is quite worth it, as in they are accountable for.. hee

Went to cheong again on sat, this time when to propaganda at 五道口 near PKU.. it's the holland V in beijing, since it's so near to PKU, it has become a gathering n chill out place for the students from all the uni ard that area..
Actually most of the pple hanging ard there are korean students, that's y u can c shop signs with addition korean wordings.

Then again, i just found out that almost every sat in this month, i've had dinner gathering with different grps of pple here in beijing. Last week was Prof Lim, this week is with the pple from the Singapore student association in beijing..
ya, met them for dinner with the rest of the gip pple on sat. Initially tot that this is going to be a small meeting only, but it turns out to be a full force event, as in the association actually invites everyone, including all the sporeans coming for their overseas study in beijing. So in the end there's super lots of pple at the dinner event.

I've learnt to admire those sporeans who came to study in beijing after their As or army. Cos even though the air n culture here in beijing is a bit different here, but the experiences these pple gain is really immense... cos some of them had stayed here for 2-3 yrs depending on their yr of study, some even stayed for 5 yrs(those going for PHD and masters here).

Through toking to some of them, i can really sense n see that they have really lots of things to share from their experiences.... sometimes i wonder how good will it be if i have a chance to study overseas on a long term basis.. hmmm...

anyway, now is already 5 in the morning n i'm waiting for my hair to dry.. slping le... haha

This 'fateful' day....

Sat, 03/09/2005....

the day where China celebrated its 60 yrs anniversary victory over the facist ideology... the day where countless pple gathered on the ground of Tian-anmen square to listen to 北京和平宣言... the day where hundreds of pple flooded the mrt cabins...

the day where our PKU prof decides to lecture us on the jap culture instead of the lesson proper. His immense knowledge on jap culture and history and its relationship with China deeply impress me. His views and arguments show an unique and proof-worthy perspective of the actions of japan during and after the Sino-japanese war. To conclude, he's unbelievable...

the day GIP 'founder' Prof Lim came to visit us and gave us a 'piece of his mind'; he's here not to lecture us but to tell us the importance of being magnanimous, on how to think 'big', on not restricting our vision to only what's in front of us, on being able to think in the shoes of others, on being able to see the different cultural perspective of different nations and pple, on how 'real' the world is, that it is not perfect, on the need to speak up, on the importance of interdependence of the systems ard us, on the need to be different and most importantly, to be able to think objectively...it's a long but memorable dinner.

the day i lost my brand new China sim card due to carelessness... the need of a phone num 'force' me to get a prepaid card in China a week ago; only activated it on thurs. Due to the lack of an extra phone, i have to change my spore sim card and the china sim card quite often. Then today since i'm too lazy to change into china sim card in the morning, i just chunk it into my wallet. An afternoon of activities in Xidan made me careless over taking care of my belonging. Guess the sim card just fell out when i'm taking my wallet in and out of my pocket; the sim card was hanging loosely in one of the pouch compartment.. so sian.. wonder if i'm getting another sim card after this.. thinking.... thinking....

Mid week blues

sian sian sian... was doing my 思考题 for GEs at PKU.. but give up in the end.. simply have no mood to do... stuck at my database at work.. just dunno how to continue.. feel very tired everytime i sit down at my work desk. dunno lei, dun like the working environment there.. no communication between the pple in the dept.. have decided that i won't want to work in any manufacturing plant after i grad.. it's a super sian place... day in day out maintaining this machine that machine.. run here run there.. 看了都 sian... ok.. i'm whining.....

Just another weekend

It's another weekend gone.. with lessons at PKU going into full swing, days at coke seems shorter. It seems to be a good thing, however, the weekend seems shorter too… haha
The days at coke now was just looking forward to Thursday whereas the days at PKU was looking ‘backwards’ to Friday…hee.. really need to proposal working days reduce to 3, studying days staying at 2 and weekend remaining at 2 too..

I have decided to get a speaker system from the ‘sim lim square’ here. Been looking thru the catalog online, have short listed a few.. gonna get a 2.1 system.. cost will be abt 30-40 sing bucks.. think it’s definitely cheaper here.. guess I’ll be visiting the electronic market here very often as it’s just beside PKU, so tink will be going to Carrefour n the electronic market after sch every fri or sat ba…

Last Friday PKU organized a student exchange session between us and some of the PKU students, well… there’s nothing special abt this session though except for the dinner and the dinner sucks.. haha.. got a few chio bus here n there.. hmmm.. maybe it’s just only 1 or 2… haha….
think due to the nature of study in PKU, most of the students here are taking double major while the others are going on to research or master level in their specialization, most of them are taking subjects like medicine, archeology, physics, economics, environment etc.. mostly non technical related subjects. Guess their mentality was just to study n study till they reached the peak of the study hierarchy… looking at their attitude towards education, I can see a reflection of them in those PRC students in NTU…haha…

But unlike NTU, the study environment in PKU is really good, although everything is being taught in Chinese, but the prof here really pose questions that will let u think… quoting one of my prof teaching us here, he said, “ there’s not right or wrong answers to my questions, there’s only ‘top’ and ‘below par’ answers to them”… he just meant that no matter how irrelevant is our answers is to his qns, as long as it is logical and holds our own personal opinions, supported by facts and figures, it will be a top level answer… guess u’ll nv find tat type of marking standards in NTU.. ya, think it’s because the courses in NTU are all those with all the formulas and standard procedure.. which means u can nv smoke ur way thru… sian

Went to 颐和园 on sat after lesson, it’s one of those many imperial gardens with lots of ancient structures from the ancient times.. I’ve always feel ancient when walking thru these old imperial places.. there’s always been this curiosity of mine on how ancient emperors led their life, the stories from long long time ago, the deception, the conspiracy from the olden dynasties, the story behind each and every grandeur of the original structures… wow… everytime I’ve stepped into such places, I always think that it’s just 100 or 200 years ago that some emperors might be standing at the same point as I am, looking at the same thing.. n what might he be thinking at that point in time while looking at the same scenery…. Hmmm…

Well, maybe it’s due to the lack of time and the crowd, the ‘ancient’ feeling that I have at these places don’t always last very long, maybe it’s just that I don’t have the time to linger ard a particular spot for longer period. Guess I will be reading more on the history of such places, if I have the time.. hee.. it will be very interesting after reading thru stories and visiting the exact same site where the story happen… it’s cool… n ya, companions that u go to these places are also very impt.. that’s wat I feel after so many visits, with different grps of pple, to these historical places. Maybe 2 will just be a nice number if I’m touring these places again… hee

This weekend of mine ended with a visit to a salsa pub on sun nite, was invited by a few of our PKU counterparts.. erm… it’s not strictly a pub that is solely dedicated to salsa, it’s just that the theme for that pub every sun is salsa.. there’s not many pple there, but most of them know how to dance… haha, in the end most of us(the NTU pple) who went there just sit by the side and chit chat.. haha.. hmm… it’s not that we are anti, we did join the dance for a while, then after tat, we just exit from the dance floor.. becos we are just so stiff n un-sexy on the dance floor… haha.. guess gil will like the place over there…. Nice experience… think the pub is called taku, location is very near PKU, didn’t remember the road name in which the pub lies…

So that’s my weekend and here I am again, sitting at my desk at coke, starting a whole new week of work…

First weekend in Peking university

Finally the 4 day work week in beijing starts le.. woohoo.. With a 4 day week, time in office seems shorter than the usual 5 day one.. maybe it's the tot of not working on friday ba...

Anyway, friday appears faster than it should be.. woke up early in the morning, abt the same time when i went to work daily...transport: chartered bus... the whole journey to PKU takes abt 1.5 hrs during peak morn traffic and 45 mins during sat non-peak period.. cost: 22 RMB, abt 2 times more than taking public transport..but chartered bus save us the trouble to transfer from bus to mrt to bus then walk again.. very mafan ah... haha

First lesson at 北大, our lecturer was absent due to some other commitments.. in his place came another prof.. he's the lecturer for the 2nd part for that particular subject... all i can say of the first lesson was that it was stunning.. think most of the prof in PKU are very zai.. cos taking this prof that took over us for example, even though he did not prepare for the first lesson, he can just go on n on during the lesson without any divergence from the topic.. can see that his tots were very clear and organised... ZAI...

Then came the 2nd day, different prof(cos we are taking 3 different subjects in PKU, so will be meeting abt 5 tutors all in all i think), he wore sandals with t-shirt, bringing his tea and laptop for the morning lesson.. very casual wor.. haha
n that gives us a hint of our dress code for lesson next week ba... hah

He's also another tutor who can just gabble non stop.. n with content somemore... but as compared with the 1st tutor we met, he's still a bit 'died', so after 1.5 hrs of lesson time later, most of us in the class were quite sian liao.. haha, btw, there's only the 14 of us taking the course as PKU dun start their sem till 1st of september.

So much for lessons in PKU, actually the fun thing this weekend is us going for the weekly gathering of Sporeans in beijing at the Swissotel on friday. We got this lobang when we met one of the comm member from the spore chamber of trade in beijing. He's ard 50+ yrs old, living in beijing for abt 10+ yrs.. very friendly guy and with hell lots of business contacts in BJ. Ya, so under his recommendation, me n my apt mates decide to go look look c c how this weekly thingy is actually like....

The ambience at the Swissotel here is not bad, but most of the pple there are sporean in BJ doing business.. so in the end we feel a bit lost there.. haha... but hai hao, luckily the 50+ uncle(we call him uncle andrew) was there and he introduced us to quite a few of his comm members there and brought us to the 'lau pa sat' in beijing for supper. The lau pa sat here is actually a restaurant opened by sporean. The shop is located near 三里屯, selling spore food like carrot cake, fried kway tiao n so on... i tried the teochew kway tiao.. have the looks of spore food, but with the serving of china food and tasted so so only.. hee
as the food there is quite ex(as compared to the usual pricing in BJ), most the customers there i think is sporeans..

After tat i joined the lot, including uncle andrew and his clique, for a chill out session at a nearby pub at 三里屯. The pub is called cappuccino. There's a live band there and basically the crowd there just sit down, listen to music, drink, or play with the dices provided there.(there's a game similar to bluff, like guessing the number on the dice each time it is rolled)
Ya, i had a fun time there, listening to the experiences of the old birds in BJ and drinking diluted chivas like nobody business..and everything is being paid for by uncle andrew and gang...oops... haha.. too bad there's no dance floor in the pub... did feel quite high after the session.

Hmmm... have no idea how to write my entry... went to the great wall n spore embassy over the weekend... one was tiring, the other was homely.. *unrelated* =P great wall was packed with pple... esp near the 烽火台 where the lane is only restricted to a path to 2 pple.. n most of the local tourists there are really 'pushy'..sian.. they like to push u here n there in order to get create their path out of ya... some of them can get quite rowdy too... haiz... suan le.. i shall adopt the bo hui attitude.. as long as they dun irritate me directly can liao.. hee

Sat trip to 十三陵 and 长城 was a tiring one.. so decided to try something relax on sun.. went to the bazzar at the spore embassy.. expected it to be nothing much.. n it turns out this way.. really nothing there n the cover charge(typical spore.. cos this fee is in the name of donation... haha) is really expensive.. just go inside is abt 100 RMB le.. stayed there for a while then i 'run' liao.. went to 秀水街 n bought lots of dvds.. they are high end pirated dvds wor... hehe.. although costing 10RMB, but the quality of most of the dvds are guaranteed there... i shall make more visit there to build up my collection wor.. hehe
now i have 3 places to buy my dvds.. 西单 to buy animes and tv shows, 秀水街 to buy movies, a street near 天坛 that sells sporting wear, 中关村 to buy electronic stuff... hmm.. i will be finding more places... haha...

The weather is getting cooler in beijing le.. maybe the typhoon, that is about to bring torrential rains at this moment when i'm writing this, will bring the temp further down here ba... brr...

Pirated shoes

Went to 秀水街 to buy a new pair of slip-ons today.. cos the slippers i brought to beijing is getting cmi le.. haha
Bought the shoes at 150 RMB.. abt 30 spore dollars ba.. dun whether it is worth it or not.. asked the salesgal to get me a new pair, but in the end think she just changed a shoe box that's all... diao... cos it just happen that the display pair that i tried on is abt my shoe size, so the sales gal just try to chic me into taking the pair..but i asked her to get me a new pair.. think i'm too tired, didn't notice the stupidity of me until after i pay her.. haiz... hope the shoes will last lah, although can c tat the base is sticking not so well to the leather...hope it can tahan normal wash n water soaked terrain ba... hmmm..... *pray pray*.. but the comforting thing is that the shoes still looks not bad... hee

It has been a routine for me to update my blog on weekend liao.. cos there's nothing to update from my daily work except maybe for the lunch... haha
So 7 days a week only left the last 2 or maybe the last 2.5 days that is more happening...

For the past weekend, i had stayed in my apt for 1 day, 0.5 day on fri n the other 0.5 on sat.. Actually last fri some of my apt mates went to cheong at some club called 'mixed' at the worker's stadium.. me didn't go becos dun feel like cheonging everyweek... hehe.. no money also.. but heard from their review is that the place is much better(in all aspect.. haha) than the banana club... Think they are going there again this coming fri, maybe i'll be joining them then..

Sat went with km n the landlord to settle the broadband connection at home, cos the current plan only covers 20 hours then after that charges will be calculated by per hour...
but in the end didn't manage to change the plan into unlimited one cos the telcom here is super inflexible.. dun want to bored everyone with the longwinded story... just want to complain that sometime a simple matter/procedure in Spore can become very complicated here...

Went to Xidan again to get my anime dvd.. quite shock that the police here actually do conduct sweeps on pirated stores in China.. haha.... but the trip there isn't fruitless as the pirated store owners still have lots of stocks in their possession, so i still managed to get the anime i wanted, although the transcation is done a bit in secrecy lah.. unlike the first few times i went there...

Tat's the end of sat, finally went to some tourist attraction today... Actually wanted to go to the great wall, but due to some unforseen factors, we decide to change the location to tian an men and the forbidden city..

The place is really ancient.. it's f***ing big also... entrance ticket is priced at 60 RMB, students are only charged at 20 RMB.. initially we wanted to smoke the ticket seller using our NTU matric card.. haiz.. but in the end still have to get the 60 RMB tic.. haha

The bad thing is that forbidden city is under restoration(must as well say renovation, cos basically they dig up all the tiles n place them back again.. but bo bian, some of the paintings on some buildings are really in such a sorry state that if they dun do anything now, there will be no more forbidden city left liao... n the deterioration is further worsen by the heavy pollution in beijing city.. haiz), so can only view the main hall... quite disappointing.. but even if the castle is under restoration, i can still feel the ancient aura of the place... every tiles, trees, steps, seats, wall.. basically everything there has its own story that happens long b4 our time... wow.. the feeling is really... if only i'm able to travel back n fro the timeline....

Ok, now to the stupid thing i've not able to forsee today... the batt on my digi cam gone flat after 30 photos.. forget to charge it b4 i came out n i didn't bring my extra batt... damn sian lor.. in the end have to borrow cam from my apt mates to take shots i want.. a bit paisei also.. then short while after my digi cam batt went down, my hp batt follow suit... bloody suay.... haiz... but nv mind, still manage to compile abt near 100 photos from the cams i've borrowed.. hee

Initially tot km's sup is very 'irritating'.. haha.. cos he's always ard.. literally, cos we, the interns, always like to meet up after lunch at one corner in coke to chit chat, then dunno since when, this sup of km will somehow appear within the vicinity of us... since then, when u c km, u see his sup.. haha

But after a few talk crap sessions with him, i find that he's actually a very very zai person.. that explains his status as a beijing uni grad. My access to blogspot in bj is due to him too.. =)

Same as the rest of the days, we had a tok cock session with him after lunch today. There, he brought up the topic about our purpose in working in coke.
His stand is that we should learn as much as we can during our attachment here as life as a student is the best time for one to pick up things and learn to fail along the way. N this i agree with him..

There has been a sentiment of home missing lingering ard my apt lately.. haha.. well, that's 在所难免 i guess... for my roomie,km, he has been away for nearly 1 year le, n lately he got attached, so somehow he's in the correct place at the wrong time ba.. every nite u can c him getting busy busy.. haha..

For me, there's also much to be done in singapore, but i feel that since i'm here in bj, must as well make the best out of it.. currently i'm doing database, same as what i've done during my DIP.. so somehow it's getting a bit boring, as in i feel that i'm not learning as much as i think i should be... n more or less i'm worried that i've very little things to write for my final IA report...well, c how it goes after this project. shall aim to complete it within 1 1/2 months ba.

Also for the past 3 weekends, me n my apt mates have been visiting shopping centres n electronic marts... although i'm interested to know of what they are selling there, but i feel that i should explore bj in some other ways, as in the old fashion way... the old buildings, the culture, the old city feeling.... maybe it's becos of the summer heat, it takes pretty much inertia to start to venture out of my cosy apt.. haha... shall make myself more adventurous this coming autumn, heard that the scenery here in autumn is splendid... now that i know what are the ways to get back home, shall plan my way round beijing city...

Still pondering whether i want to venture out bj this coming 1 week break in oct...hmmm... pondering...

Yupz, went for the final briefing for COR today. Ain't suppose to be there, cos i'm not going for the trip le, so something like go also no use... haha..but in the end still went for the briefing anyway. Will be the last time meeting some of them b4 i fly off to beijing le; pple like eric, jason, lixuan, darren, adrian, shirley n many many more....

Just want to wish them all the best for the trip wor.. bet they will enjoy themselves thru'out the whole event. I shall be looking out for photos from the expedition soon wor.. haha =)

Woohoo.. yup yupz… passed my ippt today.. =)
Ya, mild training do helps... mild cos I didn’t really undergo those intensive runs 3 times per week, rain or shine type of training…. Think I only manage to run 7 to 8 times ever since I failed my last ippt abt a month ago.

Been promising mum to stay at home for dinner these few days.. cos been staying out for dinner for the past few days n I’m flying off…kinda feel bad not able to spend more time at home. So I’ve decided to be a 乖 son n stay at home tmr(thurs). Hee..

Went to eski bar and NAB(New asia bar) with the funky but gossipy GLs on tues… guess we had ourselves pretty well updated with ‘info’ from ‘all ard’ after all the drinks n smoothies n coffee sia… haha…

Eski bar was fun, but the music there is too loud, that makes it not a good place for talks, u’ll have to raise ur voice to be heard…hmmm… maybe that’s where sign language comes in useful… addition lesson learn: if u want to take photos with the bar logo, remember to take them b4 u go in. cos the digi cam lense will fog after u come out of the bar. The resulting images will just be blurry patches.

Next stop, NAB, the place looks nice(the deco, lightings, sceneries) from outside(looking from grd floor) and from inside. However, the music just sucks once u’ve gotten into the bar, there’s no dance floor n most prob the comfy seats are taken up. So stay there if u manage to get good seats as the view is breathtaking. Otherwise, just make ur way to the exit ba.. haha

Well, it’s a countdown to my flight to Beijing from now… the actual timing of my flight will be 120am, 7th of july, thurs. But most prob I’ll be reaching the airport ard 10 plus 11, 6th of july, wed. In the meantime, I shall spend more time at home…

Been staying at home, rotting, for the past 2 days, including this moment when i'm typing this entry... haha.. been thinking and tallying up the list of things to bring to bj. hope there's nothing that i've missed out. haven't packed my luggage though. might be doing some last minute shopping next week ba.

There's a few things still nagging at me:

1. IPPT(gonna take it next wed, hope to get it once and for all)
2. Clementi centre(transition period, hope kp will be able to cope well)
3. still thinking.... haha

had watched a few dvds at home while rotting at home, american pie 3, white chicks, bourne identity, along came polly... think i'm hooked onto watching movies.. haha.. shall do some stocking up on my china trips....*pondering*

Sing till the dawn

Singing has never been my forte, but I loved singing. It allows me to relate better to the songs I like. It’s been a while since I went to ktv. The last time was just after the exams. Guess 1 month or so is just nice for a break in between each ktv session. For a novice singer like me, frequent visits to ktv within a short period of time tend to kill my interest in singing. Cos there are always these few songs that will repeat themselves for every session. They tend to sound boring after sometime… haha

Well, the ktv session last nite was superb. Wow.. 7hrs straight…. Hmm.. one of the longest ktv session I have.. hee
Had fun with the bunch of GLs… =)
Guess it’s sometimes dull with me ard…=P… hope the other GLs were not bored by me while walking on the long journey from cine to outram…. Haha..

The following views are just some thoughts invoke by some situation i've came across for the past few weeks. Dun ask me what's has happened or what is happening, just some thoughts... =)

I detest/bu si huan/loathe pple who judges others by their cover/behaviour at a certain point in time. Who has the right to say that one is unlady like/ungentlemanly like/vulgar(whatever vocab u can find to describe actions not fitting into common practises, one's values/perception, scenes from movies.. whatever...) when he/she/they doesn't even try to understand the situation?

Guess it's easy to misunderstand other's intention in acting out the way they do at some point in time. Be it to clarify things, to argue for a cause, to fight for equality, to try to slack, to seek opinions...etc

Arguments/complains/fights normally happen when different parties see different viewpoints to the issue. I believe that it's unfair for the other party when one side comes to any conclusion for the argument just by his/her/their own perception.(ie, i think the other person is trying to slack, i think he/she is very demanding/unreasonable, i think..)... Hey, what u 'think' might not be what he/she/they is/are trying to convey most of the time. It just shows the lack of EQ on ones' part. Why not open one's mouth to ask,"May i know what are u/u all are trying to convey?" or maybe a simple "Can u elaborate further what are u trying to say or do?" Isn't this an easier way to clarify or make things clearer before any personal comments or decisions are made?

It's very human to make personal judgement on many matters. I do so in one way or another many times. Well, bet it's unfair to the other party/parties concern and to myself too. Cos i didn't even give myself or them a chance to understand what actually going on.

So i have been reminding myself to be more self aware of certain conflicts and do take a step back n try to see what's is actually happening...hmmm.... ya, i have been trying to.. haha..

It's time to let go...

Well, it has been a another yr in ntu and in RSPHI. Time flies n while the time is still 'flying', guess we'll have to let go of some things while retaining the good memories, or whatever it may seems to be a good memory.

Just handed over the baton of centrehead to my juniors. A typical election today with 'expected' results.. oops..no hints of 'behind the door' job, but it's all fair n square. Gonna tidy up my HI documents n pass it on to the next batch le. Hope that they will be able to cope with the mounting expectations of being CHs for clementi centre..

As for tots of going to yr 3, well, gonna fly off to beijing soon, think will be missing my family, friends, maybe the canteens, tutorial rooms n lecture theaters... for the latter, maybe for a short while i guess... haha

Gona treasure the times spent in HI, ntu... things will more or less change after my gip trip, be it thinking, r/s, style of working etc etc...
But i will still be me after all....

So in the mean time, i'll looking forward to living another way of life and hope to come back a better person.

Never attempt ur ippt when u r not train/ready for it. That's what i've learnt today. Went to take ippt today w/o actually train beforehand. Ya, as expected, flung my 2.4... was 1 min slower than target.

Shall book it again in 1 months time.. n shall be prepared by then.. hehe

A bit kelong after ippt n on my way home... took the bus going in the wrong direction. Cos just happen that this 154 is just waiting at the bus stop when me n jeff were walking out, so w/o much thought, we just dash for it n board.

So bo pian, have to change bus at KAP, bukit timah. Well, meet a chio bu on board 174. Frankly speaking, i was stunned upon seeing her. Wearing a njc uniform, she was sitting at those seats facing the opposite direction which the bus is travelling. Aiya, duno how to describe her in details, maybe it's because of the nj uniform she's wearing n because her 'aura', somehow memories from jc days just flood back to my mind. A bus trip that is a reminiscent of the old days.. haha.. seems like i'm feeling old le..

Anyway, i was lucky to get a seat opposite her.. hehe.. so for the whole trip, i was literally staring at her ba.. think she's not wearing her specs, so think she couldn't see my face clearly.. n she slpt for most of the trip. Happy thing is that she alighted at the terminal, bad thing is, she went off in the opposite direction after getting off the bus. Haiz... nv mind..... really miss the days taking bus home from nj...

Trekking

Back from trekking again... this time is the nite one. It's so cooling to trek at nite... but other than that, trekking at nite is a bit more tiring than trekking in the day. Guess it's due to the urge to sleep when the clock strikes 12.. haha
Both the day and the nite recce trip were blessed with good weather, hope it will be the same for the actual precamps.. don't want to walk, drenched from head to toes, from macritchie to bukit timah..
Gonna to take my ippt this coming thurs.. siao liao.. anyway, dun have much confidence in it.. cos didn't even train up for it. Agreed to accompany ah jeff to take ippt b4 his bday, so have to 硬着头皮 and go book the dates lor.. hope the trekkings help in some way or another...hehe

Slpt for the whole of today.. initially wanted to go for tuition..but didn't make it. Went to call the caretaker in the end to ask for her help to tell the 2 new kids that there is no tuition today.. the first thing that the caretaker mentioned when i called is the centre membership fees.. haha. i cannot seems to escape from her 'clutches' everytime i get to her.. Heard from her that the management for the centre has changed and they are more strict on the membership issue... hmmm... shall c how it goes when tuition resumes ba.
Back to the 2 new students, ya, i'm feeling irresponsible on this episode.. hope both of them didn't actually go for tuition today lah.. hehe.. =P.. but haiz.. suan le... hope to get their contacts tat hopefully yeokie still holds and msg my apologies to them. It's due to some errors on my part ba.. left their contacts in the centre..

Still haven't recover from a tiring weekend.. as mentioned previously, went trekking, bash and precamp all over a span of 2 days. And there's more coming up this weekend lor.. shack wor..

DIP has been going on smoothly for the past few days.. managed to get the subsystem database working. The next step will be to test for connectivity.. erm, will be anticipating a headache over there.

Still haven't heard a thing from GIP yet, as in i haven't receive any confirmation from all the companies that i've chosen. Heard from GIP office that they had sent in the resume le, but haven't receive any reply as yet.. sian... feeling quite off.. dunno whether should prepare myself for an oversea trip or wat.. quite irritating...

Well, time flies... 2 weeks b4, i was still praying hard for the holidays to come. Now, the holidays have already marched into its 2nd week le... Been stuck in SEC(satellite engineering lab) for the past week from 10 to 4+ everyday. Same job, same task everyday... hmm.. wonder will working life be like this 2 yrs down the road...

Anyway, here comes friday and another weekend... yipeee.. tmr going for bash. but b4 that, will be going on a trek thru macritchie to bukit timah.. Wondering if i will have the energy to cheong at nite... haa
then on sun will be COR precamp 1... gonna spent most of the day in school. seems like i'm going to dedicate my time to NTU for this holiday le.

Looking forward to watching Starwars next week.. haha..then initial D.. woohoo.... hoping to go on a cruise.. but too busy to look for budget lei... whole day stuck in lab how to find.. haiz...
then after tat will be gip.. haven't received any news from any companies yet.. how? cross fingers... xxx

DIP: Dumb and Irritating Project

Starting of DIP....it’s truly a design project… the innovation part mah…no comments.. haha..
It has been a tiring 2 days for me. I normally won’t stay in sch till past 5 during sch days, but this DIP had kept me in sch from 845 to 5+ for the past 2 days…

The good thing is that it’s not very mentally straining, quite slack in fact.. morn go there wait for instruction, afternoon early lunch, then after lunch attend some briefing then slack till times up…

Gotten database programming for my subproject. Definitely not my first choice, but somehow still ended up with it. Maybe it’s just like all other things, u’ll most likely met with events u least expected. Have a feeling that stress is slowly creeping up on me… hey, it’s holiday, but then… haiz… have to start from ground zero for database programming. Will also have to churn out something 5 weeks later. Possible? Maybe…

Guess the only good thing abt this DIP is that I’m attached with a good sup. No time restriction, me and my partner are entirely free to do what we want… very OTOT…. Well, hope this freedom will spur me into coming out with satisfactory results at the end of this project ba..

First post after exams….. woohoo…. I’m enjoying extremely 颓废 life now….. hehe.. really eat slp play watch tv then back to slp again…. Been raining in the evening for the past few days, so did not have a chance to go and start training for ippt.. yupz, got to take it b4 I fly off to China… or else mindef will begin to bug me thru sms when my bday comes round the corner again. Spent part of Friday throwing my books and notes back to where they should belong….guess I’m not touching notes and stuff for the next 6 months le.. been wanting to do a lot of things during my revision period… but my mind seems to malfunction after the last paper… maybe let it break for 1 week ba, then maybe all the stuff will come back again…. Heard this song on radio sometime back, lazy to go find it till last fri, so here is it, dedicated to all those who are flying off this summer holidays… =)

Guess it’s a nagging feeling while doing this sem’s exam papers…. I feel that i’ll not perform up to my expectation. I feel that I’m not able to get the grades I wanted with the same amt of effort I’ve put in for the past 3 sem. Now after every paper, I cannot safely say that I’ll be able to get an A or B. The reassuring feeling is just not there… This feeling seems to get worse when mistakes start to appear for different paper.. Oh my, it’s really mentally straining…. My gut feeling tells me that my grades for that paper will depend on how others fare…(cos I suppose every grade assigned is dependent on the mean grade for the whole cohort)…. that gives me hell a lot of uncertainty. Not that I’m hoping that all others do badly..(of course not)…. think it’s because confidence is draining away from me as more subjects come to me… think I’m getting tired and desperately need a rest from all the studying. Argh…… I need a BREAK!!!!!

Ok....i’m going to whin in this entry…. ya, had my DE paper today.. n what I’ve fear did came true… careless mistake. It’s not only careless, but stupid also. Think it’s gonna kill off the whole qn liao. To think I’ve been doing all the don’t care and 0 and 1 throughout all the tut… then still have to make such stupid mistakes in the final piece of assignment. Wah lao…. Somemore it does not apply to just 1, but 2 qns. Think plus those parts in which I’m not able to do, a B will be some form of blessing. C will be satisfactory, D will be unthinkable….. haha

Ya, I have high hopes for the exams this sem… although this sem is not as hardworking as previous sems, but I’m hoping for miracles to happen.. haha.. nv mind, I’ll try my best for my last 2 papers.(but have to get out of this whiny mood….argh…)
Will have to wait to the end of May before I know the results of this exam. Keeping my fingers cross in the meantime.

Well.. actually this is my second post for the day.... the first got deleted when the stupid 56k modem hanged.. ya, i'm using 56k modem to go online now. Cos my bro haven't renew the broadband yet... sigh
That explains y i haven't been updating this blog. Ya, this is one of the reason... n it's not because i've been mugging hard lately... it's actually the opposite, i'm desperately seeking for time to make up for the slacking hours in bed.

Had my taste of what's gonna to come in my way for the next 2 weeks...
Well, had my 1st core paper today. It's 'doable' to summarize. But as usual, i'll nv know if there's careless mistakes here and there. Furthermore, there are usually parts in which i anyhow bomb thru. So i guess i can consider the marks allocated there given back to the tutors. Ya, so although it's 'doable', it's hard...*contradicting*.... whatever....

As it goes for the rest of my exams in ntu, my confidence for each paper is exponentially proportional to the number of days for the exams.
So.... wonder how much confidence have i left for my next paper, EE2003: Semiconductor. 40%, 50%..... dunno..

Been thinking a lot while slacking lately also, hmmm... wanting to do lots of things after exams, had lots of things to do also... but well, that's after exams.
Might not complete them anyway, especially with the 'wantings'.

1. Bought a new notebook from 8flags but found out that 8flags offer a newer version of my model with the same selling price. This happen on the day when i was collecting my notebook... sian..

2. Was busy configuring this new notebook for the past 2 days => wasted what seems to be my precious time to study... sian... but the thing is that i'd finish with the configuration though

3. Earthquake in Sumatra again, why Indonesia is so suay this few months...or issit that Earth has decided to become more active recently after billions of yrs of normal activities???

4. Been spotting chio bus on 179 on my way to and fro sch these few days.......wonder which sch r they from....... have i become more desperate.... hmmmmm..... *deep tots*

5. Starting to find ntu lecturers making more sense for the past 2 weeks.....but does that means exams are also coming near??? or does that also mean i haven't been paying my full attention during classes...hmmmm.... *not so deep tots*

6. Just came to my notice that a great architect Kenzo Tange, who has created many wonderful buildings ard the world, had died at the age of 91 on the 22nd of March 2005. To my surprise, he is also the guy who designed the structure of NTU in the 1980s. Wonder if anyone sitting in one of the tut rooms or walking along the pavement in north spine will remember him....

7. The news mentioned above just caught my eye because the article is lying on my dinner table, with most of my leftovers(eg bones and shells) scattered ard it. Think the piece of newspaper is somewhere along the road to the incineration or recycling plant le.....

8. Haven't been using my brain lately and i feel like i'm a walking zombie......

Had been to GIP briefing today. Actually shouldn't call it a briefing. It's more like a motivational talk given by a recorded video and by the dean for COE. Guess it's more of a pep talk given to the GIP-bound pple.

All the stories abt having ur dreams, aspirations, self-motivation.....haiz... Well, there's one point mentioned by the dean that had caught my attention. It's the thing abt the new generation of Singaporean youth becoming more and more 2 dimensional. As in our life has became more and more paper orientated till a point where we cease to think for ourselves... on what we really want in life, our dreams(if there's any), our drive to achieve our goals...Where has all the talk of exploring the world, where has all the dreams of having to earn ur first million... Nowadays, we have increasing becoming walking zombies as quoted by the dean... hmmm....

Being into the month of preparing for exams, guess most of us, including me, has been burying our head into endless piles of books and tutorials. Maybe sometimes we should just put down our books and start to let our minds go wild....to have wild ideas that are beyond our reach now and start to work towards it after exams... haha

But before we embark on our journey of day dreaming, let's first finish with what we should be revising now.... =P

Well, 1/2 a million is the num of pple who went for the IT show at Suntec for the past 3 days... n i've contributed to that num by being there yesterday... haha... Warning: Never go to IT fair or any other fairs with free admission if you are not prepared to be squeezed, shoulder to shoulder, toes to toes...well, sad to say, i've been there, done that....haiz, there goes my white mizuno shoes n my money... erm... didn't get my wallet stolen... just that i've spent quite a bomb on something that i tot i wouldn't have bought...got to run more ippt le.. hehe.. to earn back the money. hmmm... well, that will be after exams le i guess. But will have to train up by running n running n running.. *hate running*, but bo pian, have to pass ippt n get money then have to run.
Then again, long time nv been exercising le, maybe it's time for me to workout liao.

Well, 4 days from the week has passed, still the usual catching up with tutorial and stuff. EE2007 lecture just changed lecturer, the new lecturer superb lor.... the way he gave his lecture makes me wanna pon his lesson.. it's super super slow.. dunno whether if he thinks he is given extra time to finish his notes or he thinks we can't understand a single thing he says...
But for today maths lec he 出 stunt: nv had one lec that ends 30mins earlier than the allocated timeslot. When he says "u all can go now", think the whole LT stun.. hahaha.. but good lah, at least i've 30mins of additional breaktime. =)

Wonder how much breaktime will i get for his lec tmr.....hmmm....haha..somemore tmr i end sch at 1130 with his lec being the last lesson of the day.... *pray*

Slacking weekend

Yupz, as the title suggest, been slacking for thurs, fri and sat.. hehehe.. oops
heard the red alert alarm ringing behind my head le...
but lazy to start work lei... haiz...

Actually cannot consider the past week to be a busy one, just a bit fan over COR stuff. Yupz, looking for bus transport from S'pore to JB senai airport. Also looking for transport within KK. Transport from s'pore to senai still ok. But the headache comes for transport in KK. Most of the faxes, in fact all, i've sent drew blank. Haven't been receiving replies from them since 2 weeks back??? Partly because i think i've sent to the wrong num, or should i say wrong format for sending faxes to overseas. But in the end i managed to get the format rite on thurs. So now still waiting for the correct replies... hahaha

Also the calls to overseas very fierce ah.. wah, 1 wrong num or a few min of call cost 30 cents or more. think it's one connection already taken up 30 cents then the following min dunno how much. but confirm a lot.. haha.. cos i've only made 8 calls i think using my calling card, then now left only 7 bucks from original 10 bucks..

haiz, suan le, enough of sian stuff...
Sat went for my cousin's wedding dinner at swiss'otel merchant court.. the whole wedding setting chio, but the food a bit sucky... serving all very small.. n wedding dinner always very sian.. sit there waiting for the food n drinks to be served n answering the same old questions with the same ans that i've already said during the past CNY...hahaha
but then after dinner guess what, i managed to have a taste of sitting in a BMW 7 series that cost $300K... the feeling is shiok sia... one of my relative(i think..hahaha) sent my family home. the car got it's own GPS.. then driving at 110 kmph on the expressway feels like not moving at all..which means the ride super smooth..haha... really a luxury car... with that price think can buy 2 HDB 5 room flat in jurong area le... wor....
haha...

enough said le.. work harder the coming week ba.

Spend the end of my 1 week term break watching this serial.. hehe... oops.. slacking n now experiencing the after effect of this slacking... hehe.. die die..
but i've no regret watching the show.. seldom got a show that can really touched me n this is one of those...

Ya, kop this show from blackice during the break. Nv thought it was nice initially, just that since Ms juneberry keeps toking abt how good is the game during one of the sat tuition, so i decide to give this show a try.... n i'm not disappointed in the end. It's a good show if u r in the mood for some 凄美又动人 love story.

Although heard that the show doesn't really follow the gameplay, but i believe that the show should be viewed from a tv serial point of view... with a cast of suai ge n mei nu, even if u dun like the plot, guess the eye candy cast will still make ur time worth.. hehe

Dun mind watching the serial for another time... hehe..the song on my blog is one of the tunes from the show.. enjoy. =)

Well, the list of qns goes on n on.... bet these are the qns that most pple faced during interviews. Ever wonder is there a set of standard ans to such qns??
I guess there is ba.. from the numerous self help books in the bookstore to the endless workshops available everywhere, there are infinite number of avenues to help u ace ur interview.

But still, i'm not comfortable with sitting in front of a panel of interviewers asking u this n probing u that...
What is with those 'how to' and 'what do' qns... haiz... the most sui bian ans i'll give (if i can) will be: "like that lor"...=P... how the hell am i supposed to know how will i contribute to the organisation.. hahah.. i can just say this this... or that that that... but what if in the end i cannot deliver what i had said.. then it will be pointless after all...

Ya, today i went for GIP interview and the qns mentioned above mostly popped out in front of me.. n i was like.. erm.. like that lor.. haha... while trying my best to ans every qn truthfully, i still get a lot of funny looks from my interviewers...

Blame it on my laziness to do any 'research' on GIP... there's nothing much to read up anyway.. just those little little blue booklet telling u how GIP come abt...

Blame it on my inarticulate nature, i usually find it hard to bull shit my way thru interviews.. hehe... so i'll just go round n round until the interviewer gave me a *u sure u know what u r talking abt* look.. haha..

After bringing the interviewers in circles, the ultimate qn came: "what do u want to do after u graduate".. hmm... find a job???
for this ans, i ganna another *u sure only finding a job* look... haha
guess what they want is something like.. i wish to set up a company overseas.. wor....
Nah, that wouldn't be my ans for now.. cos no money n no ambition...yet.. haha

So silence follows and lots of ticking n commenting on their sheets of paper.. n finally came the: "tat's all, u can go" statement and then off i go, crossing my fingers as i walked out the door...

Guess that's the end for my GIP application and hope for better luck the next time round for any interview ba.. n ya, i'll remind myself to research more... hehe

WOoo HOooo.....
Chingay was fun... having the chance to be able to watch it from such a closer distance to the performance, it's every cent worth of my time... hehe...
For the past dunno how many years, i never thought chingay was a fun event... To me, it's always some street parade with some floats going ard on orchard road held on the weekend after the CNY holidays every yr.

But what i've seen for the past 2 days changed much of my views on Chingay... It's really a carnival(of course cannot be compared with the Mardis Gras that km had gone to lah).. haha.. but nevertheless, for those of ya who has been there b4, u'll know that the atmosphere on the ground is super different from what u see on the square box at home.

Having the privilege to view the parade at 2 different sites for the 2 seperate days, i'm able to see different faces of the performers.. from their sian diao look while waiting for the event to start to their limitless energy even to the end of the parade, i'm impressed with the designs of the floats, the colourful costumes that every performer wear, not forgetting the firecrackers...
After gabbing so much on the parade, i'm actually there for the past 2 days to do canvassing.. haha...

Didn't do much in the end; i spent more time crapping abt the performance than working for canvassing... dun be mistaken, it's not then i eat snake lor, just that there's really nothing to do during the parade except to 'look' after the barricades. The job scope for the preview session on fri was even better, we need only to wipe the chairs b4 the thing starts. But one bad thing is that we have no place to sit on fri lah..

Sat's chingay was better, although there's some confusion on who to find n stuff in the beginning, we manage to settle down at the bus-stop outside emerald orchard, opposite specialist centre. Even though the bus stop is between performance stage 3 and 4(i think), but the we(me, ah hai, lixuan, see yeh, thoon loon, choon chuen) were still able to catch much of the actions as the performers stop at every section before the main stage to perform for the spectators by the side of the road.. guess what, out of so many of us, ah hai received the most num of waves from the performers... ranging from pri sch kids to obasan from the jap troupe.. hahahaha....

Well, i think the best view of the night will be coming from jingz, cos she's positioned just in front of the section where the president sits lor... that means she's having the same view as what the president will see lor.. *envy*

but never mind, actually towards the end i become a bit sian.. cos watching the same thing for 2 days liao... hehe..

So much of Chingay... hope next yr COR will have the same lobang lah, but i'll only go for 1 day.. hehe, cos 2 days of Chingay is a bit boring for me.... hahaha

Sian sian sian..... today had 2 quizzes in a row. N out of the 2 quizzes, at least 70% flunk liao.. Nv expect DE to be the killer man.. haiz. suan le. Blame it on myself too, didn't do much studying for the subject for the past 2 days also. Been concentrating on semicon. But end up like not producing any results...

Never mind ba, looking forward to weekend n term break....

My hp bill will be arriving in 6 days time.. hmmm.... been using lots of sms lately.... guess most of the smses must be from those single 'ok' replies.... haha
Replying smses has always been a form of art.... a single misinterpretation of one word or a phrase from the receiving end might result in disastrous results.. It takes lots of re-read, re-edit so that the reply sms u sent will be a 'politically' correct one. hmmm... but usually the brain just fail to function, thus the reply will just be: ok....the most will just add in a 'can' to fully utilise the sms that u r going to send... haha

But well, at least these 'oks' serve it purpose of acknowledging that u have received n understood the intended msg.

Well, the hype word yesterday is valentine...
Hmmm... my V day is spent running ard... haha...
Lab first thing in the morn => Woke up late => cannot take bus cos sure cannot get onto that stupid 179...
ya, divert a bit, must really 'thanks' 179 every morn lor, i'll only get to sch if i manage to take the 755am bus, otherwise, sure late one. Then the stupidest thing is that 179, although comes frequently during peak hour, always have 2 FULL buses arriving between 8 to 830. Then at 835, there will always be 4 SBS 179 arriving at my bus stop... argh... super pissed off... y can't the chain of 4 buses come earlier say 815 so that ntu students living ard the vicinity of ntu will be able to reach sch on time... let us thoroughly enjoy the benefit of living so near to sch lah.... *sure ganna bish by lots of pple one*.... hehehe

ok, back to the part of waking up late.. in the end have to brisk walk to sch lor, nearly puke all my breakfast.. eeekk.. haha.. ya, then my day continues until the lunch break...

Vday is really one happening day in ntu ya, pinkish balloons flying ard, flowers of different types, colours and shapes, u name it, they have it.. haha... too bad, just didn't c pple carrying big toy bears ard... haha.. used to see them during jc days...
haiz, didn't have the luck of catching gossip targets lei... not like jings so lucky.. haha..

well, spent the 2 hours rushing to jp to get some cough herbal tea...dying of cough soon...

tot will be able to make it in time if i left ntu after eating at 12 n get back b4 130... but i was wrong.. in the end i spent the 'spare' time window shopping in jp.. oops.. but managed to get back in time for lec at 130 lah, although reach ntu at abt 145..... hmmm.... hehe

N the day ended for me after the string of lectures till 430.. well.. i did spent my V day running ard... *crap* =P

Yeah.... finally set up my 'music' blog....
actually got it up some days ago le..
but that time was using some iwebmusic.com to host my music... but the stupid website doesn't allow me to upload my mp3 even though there's a upload function there.. hmmm....

so bo bian have to copy and paste the already available script over there to my blog.. and that marks my first step to reformatting my comp.. haha
long story... suan le.. now everything back to normal.
Just that i've lost all my good website links in the favourite folder le.. sigh...

Now i've found a simpler way to play music on blog le.. that's to upload music to a hosting website from angelfire.com then just copy 1 simple line code to my template and voila..... the music goes on... hahah
no more stupid scripts.. so ma fan.

Consequence of deleting a file without reading the warning

Haiz, actually there are a lot of things i want to post up for the past few days.. but then, due to my stupid act of carelessly deleting one .dll file from the comp, i couldn't browse through any of the pictures in the IE browser.... i couldn't even access to my email...

Regardless how many times i reinstall the dumbo IE, the browser just couldn't show any images.. In the end bo pian, i had to reformat my comp. Never thought of reformatting comp just before CNY.... haiz

Anyway, the reinstalling of all the programs to my comp is already about 80% done. Phew, lucky got backup info to my external harddisk... at least my mp3s n movies are still intact....

Learnt some lesson from this episode:

Never anyhow delete .dll file or any system file from the comp even though it cause u a lot of problems.... look through it carefully before u start to do anything stupid.
Always backup ur impt data somewhere else or go partition ur comp...
It's wise to invest in an external drive as u can safely dump anything into it(provided u don't introduce virus into it also lah)... haha

Back to what i was going to say about my weekend,

Well, had a tiring weekend, went for garang guni for COR.... and now my muscles still aching from all the carrying n stuff in the morning.. although i couldn't say i did a lot, cause in the afternoon i was basically stoning.. hehe... no lah, i was 'guarding' the newspaper... so afternoon did not do much carrying...

But hai hao lah, we manage to earn 1000+ for this canvassing.. yeah.. all thanks to the hardwork and sweat of everyone who came down that day... =)

For HI events: finally reunion dinner is over..yupz.. this year save quite a lot of money as compared to last year.. paid only 4 bucks this year and the food still ok lah. Ended the meal with lao yu sheng.. typical of CNY...haha

Ok, now left Sparkz and then it will be handover time lor... hehehe... so excited...

Now gonna prepare for tuan yuan fan le....till then... =)

Jumble up the make ups and u'll get mixed up

With the annual CNY arriving next week, everyone around me seems to be going through their yearly itineries which include :buying new clothes, stocking up their new year supplies, ganna chased by their mum to do spring cleaning, speculating on how much they will 'earn' this year, brooding over who should they visit this year and the list goes on.....

Me? I'll be tallying up the number of my make ups for my tutorial and lectures due to this annual event. Basically for this sem, all my tutorials happen to fall on that unfaithful wed and thurs. Haiz, this implies that i'll have all my tut make ups on the CNY week.

N what happens when some of the make up timeslot clashes ---> headaches..... haiz(again). Don't blame me for being so whiny here... but that's what blog is for rite, for me to complain n complain n complain... haha

Speaking of CNY.......

guess this year will be another plain and simple one for me. will be seeing the same pple, maybe will see some new baby faces, ang pao getting thinner.... simply to say, this will be another boring CNY....

Nv mind, shall set my mind to slack and stone this CNY. hehehe...

Am i back to the days of barter trade? hmmm....

1st day of week 5, sem2, 2005.
Ye.... I've clinched 4 deals for the sale of soft toys as part of the canvassing efforts for COR 05. Guess many pple out there will just say: " wah lao, only 4 mah..." hahaha.
It's true that 4 is a bit erm... little, but for an unconvincing salesman like me, to break the barrier of selling 1(ownself buy one) is quite a feat for me. haha.....

To be able to persuade pple to buy ur goods require quite an amount of effort and lots of sales talk. For me, i own nothing of the 2. Maybe it's just being lazy, maybe it's just being unsociable, or maybe it's just that i dun feel comfortable approaching pple whom i know quite well to buy my stuff.

I'll always feel that it seems though i've own a favor to the person whom i've sold the goods to. Call it extra or call it unnecessary, but it's just how i feel. Thus things will always end up with barter trade. U buy my stuff and i'll get urs... hahaha

So when someone told me his trick to sell more stuff, i was like 'huh'...(no offence)... haha
Think it's just me ba. Well, guess being in the line of sales is just not for me, for now.

p.s: maybe that's y i'm in engin instead of acct or bus studying marketing.... hahaha

Art of navigating thru choices,dreams and promises

It's nv easy to decide between what u desire and what u actually choose or promise.
Haiz...
Y is it that most of the time things that someone desire always come after things that he/she already promised or chose to do.

The situation will be best if the timeline of the desired thing doesn't clash with the promised thing. However, nothing is perfect in this world, u'll always have to choose bet responsibility and desire.
Guess will just have to make a decision and stick to it ba. Then let time decide whether i've made the correct choice. May meet pitfalls along the way, but if there's no obstacles, then it will not be called the art of navigating thru all the stuff le...... haha

Ok, enough of crap, had a busy week........
it's a week filled with report, unfinished tut(still not completed), incomplete readings and...hmmm whatever there is.. haha
Hope things will get better next week???

then have to re-login and republish again..
maybe it's due to me changing the settings of the template?

It's a blue blue monday after a hell of a hectic long weekend
and Yesssss...
After spending 3 days flipping through endless datas and past 'references', I've finally completely that stupid dumbo lab report. N the only consolation i got out of that is no lab for the next 2 weeks.. heng ah...
haha........

Hmmmmm.......I shall make use of the next 2 weeks to catch up on my work. Been lagging behind on my tut le. Actually i thought i can make use of the past weekend to do some readings in addition to the report, but 人算不如天算, haiz....

Anyway, some of ya might be wondering what the heck do i put the address of a EEE lab for the title of my blog...

.....Cos i've leave my trail of destruction in that lab... oops...

To keep an update, i've spoilt 3 BJT, 1 multimeter and today i've just broke 1 LED in just 2 visits to that lab. Never in any lab session in NTU that i've broken so many things.. hmm... clashes of 'ba zi' with the lab maybe... haha

But no worry, although so many stuff are spoilt, i need not pay for anything, guess they are quite cheap ba... (assumption only lah) hehe...

Ok, so much on me n my lab sessions... i shall get back to my overdued tut now.. haiz

After much thinking n pondering, my first post is finally out online... haha... Had always been wanting to register my tots in the form of an online journal, but due to my laziness, this urge has never been fulfilled until now.

Hmmm... y now lei, actually it's because the today is a public holiday and i'm stuck at home with a lab report to complete. (sad case) So while logging online to find some pictures for some stupid apparatus, i've decided to set up a blog... haha.. so there you re, a simple start to my adventure in the world of blogging.....

Ok, time to go back to my report le... haiz.. still got so many pages to go....
Will update this column soon after i finish with that dumbo report.... =)
